To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account, or establishes a new relationship or service.

What this means for you, when you open an account or new service, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying documents.

Anyone who lives, works, worships, or goes to school in Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Franklin, Isle of Wight County, or Southampton County is eligible for membership.

Immediate family members of anyone who is already a member at PortAlliance Federal Credit Union are also encouraged to join. This includes spouses, parents, sisters, brothers, grandparents, children, or grandchildren by blood or by marriage.

To join PortAlliance Federal Credit Union, you must first open a regular savings account with a deposit of just $25, and you're a member for life and eligible to apply for of all the services we offer. To join, stop by one of our  branch locations, and be sure to bring identification so we can verify your name, social security number, and date of birth.
